• Federation of Genealogical Societies (  http://www.fgs.org/ ) - founded in 1976, the FGS represents the members of hundreds of genealogical societies
• National Genealogical Society ( http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/ ) - a nonprofit organization founded in 1903, the NGS is the premier national society for everyone from the beginner to the most advanced family historian
