LOCATION: 5000 Cason Street at Vannerson Street, Dallas

From S. M. Wright Freeway (aka Hwy 75), take Hatcher St. pass Lincoln High School and turn right on Cason which between the east side of L. Butler Nelson Memorial Park and an apartment complex. Cason St is located off Hatcher Street. The entry to Glen Oak Memorial Park is on the right side of Cason past L. Butler Nelson. This cemetery is fully fenced, maintained, and active. Many of the burials in the Glen Oak Cemetery are unmarked.

The cemetery seems to have been opened in the 1950s. Many of the burials were handled by the Pinkston Mortuary, which was operated by Lee G. Pinkston, Jr. and his family. His father, who is buried there, is Dr. Lee Gersham Pinkston. Dr. Pinkston was one of the first five African American doctors to practice at St. Paul Hospital. A high school is named for him.
