Honor Your Ancestor

We as African Americans believe that we are descendants of slaves taken from their motherland many moons ago.  The "Sankofa Bird" for us symbolizes our belief that in order for us to move forward we must look back to the past.  The past for many of us reaches back to the door of no return.  We are the drum of our ancestor's freedom.  Now it's time to take the baton and pass it on to future generations to come.
