Digital Imaging Meeting Dates

Beginning in January 2008, the Digital Imaging Group (DIG) will meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM, at the J. Erik Jonsson Dallas Public Library, 1515 Young Street, in downtown Dallas (across the street from Dallas City Hall), in the Hamon Room. The Hamon Room is located on the 5th floor - turn right after exiting from the elevators and proceed about halfway down the hall. The Hamon Room will be the large room on the right.

January 12	*Digital Asset Management* - Ways to manage these "piles" and catalog them, both physically and electronically. Filing systems and software programs will be reviewed. Q & A session.
February 9	*Digital Media Selection for Storage and Longevity* - Advantages and disadvantages of the various magnetic and optical media. Specifications and manufacturer's recommendations regarding storage conditions and care of media. Q & A session.
March 8	*Lighting Conditions for Digital Imaging* - Lighting types and placements for document/photo copying. General lighting conditions and ways to control them for photographing objects, buildings and tombstones. Q & A session. NOTE: For this month only, the group will meet on the 3rd floor, in the "Studio" (back left of floor from the elevators). After this session, some of us will walk to Subway for lunch (all are welcome).
